- Right now I'm running Emby on MacOS 10.14.6. When update the Emby server app I get 'EmbyServer.app is damaged'. The only way I can run Emby is to run xattr on the app and then it will start. Can someone explain to me why I need to keep doing this after I update.
- My question is this: What Mac OS would be the best choice for running Emby AND what could I do to make it a bare bones install? My guess is that Catalina is fine as it would be running Emby in a 64bit configuration. I would like to remove Safari browser and other unnecessary apps to minimize what is loaded at startup to preserve memory.
- Emby works better than Plex at the moment. Emby won’t collect data and write a log file non-stop as Plex does. I really wish that Emby will remain the open source solution, keeping consumer privacy.

I'm finding the Emby app for Mac unusable. Selecting any dropdown menu on any page causes the App to hang/loop with the dropdown options flashing (see gif). The only thing you can do to get out of it is to quit the app. Some pages (mostly in Settings) seem to select the first dropdown menu automatically and the app immediately hangs.
